Looking back over the last couple of years, members enjoyed special visits to Winter Wonderland, the Old Police House stables, Kensington Palace, Albert Memorial Undercroft, as well as a perfumed reverie in the Hyde Park Nurseries. The annual summer party in Hyde Park was a great success in Hyde Park, always accompanied with wine and nibbles. We were looked after on all these occasions by expert and very hospitable hosts. We have plenty of fun to look forward to in the coming year.

Speakers Corner ( Hyde Park) Bulb Planting

The Royal Parks have a fun volunteering opportunity to plant bulbs ‘in the green’ at Speakers corner.

Speakers’ Corner is a traditional site for public speeches and debates since the mid 1800’s when protests and demonstrations took place in Hyde Park and is located on the north-east edge of Hyde Park, nearest Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Historic figures such as Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and George Orwell were known to often use the area to demonstrate free speech.
