Serpentine Gallery South Summer Pavilion Tour

We are grateful to the Directors, Bettina Korek and Hans Ulrich as well as Head of Events, Emily Burke and Events Manager Emily South for inviting us again this year to visit the Summer Pavilion in the company of Exhibition’s Curator Tamsin Hong.

The pavilion has been designed by Mexico City based Lanza Atelier with many references to British features, especially our “crinkle-crankle” walls, a curved Serpentine and brick walled gardens.

The Exhibition’s Curator, Tasmin Hong will guide us through the private viewing of the Pavilion.

Tasmin will explain the concepts and construction of the Pavilion as we wander around the space amongst ourselves.

The Gallery is generously offering us tea, coffee and water.

Booking is essential for members only, numbers are limited and names are necessary. Tickets for £15 can be obtained through the eventbrite link which will be emailed to members.

Please arrive by 17.50 as tour commences at 18.00

There is a public art sculpture close by.
Penetrable BB Jaune’ by Jesus Rafael Soto (1923 – 20050)

Soto explains: “the viewer is always central to the artwork, the piece is completed through participation, movement and touch”

From observation throughout the Summer, this has had a magical effect on visitors of all ages entwining themselves in the tubes.
